Verbatim Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Cheeky Pixel Oy ("Cheeky Pixel", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Verbatim mobile application. Verbatim helps actors rehearse scripts by listening to spoken lines and comparing them with script text.

Summary

Microphone and speech recognition

Verbatim requests microphone and speech-recognition permission only when you use a rehearsal mode that listens to your lines. Microphone audio is supplied to the speech-recognition service provided by your device or operating system so that spoken words can be converted to text. Depending on your device settings and the speech service available on your device, that provider may process audio on-device or on its servers under its own privacy terms.

Cheeky Pixel does not receive, store, or upload raw microphone recordings. The recognized text is used in the app to compare your speech with the script. In the current distributed version, recognized text and matching diagnostics are stored locally on your device and are not sent to Cheeky Pixel.

You can remove downloaded scripts inside Verbatim. You can remove all locally stored Verbatim data by deleting the app from your device.

Network requests and service providers

Verbatim connects to Cheeky Pixel's hosting provider to download script and audio bundles that you request. As with ordinary internet traffic, the hosting provider may process technical request information such as an IP address, request time, and requested file for delivery, security, and abuse prevention. We do not use this information to profile you or track you across apps or websites.

We use Supabase to host downloadable Verbatim content and Firebase Hosting to serve this website and privacy policy. These providers may process technical request data on our behalf and according to their own terms and privacy commitments.

Information you send to us

If you contact us for support, we receive the contact details and message you choose to send. We use that information only to respond, investigate the issue, keep necessary business records, and meet legal obligations. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Children

Verbatim is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can delete it.

Security, retention, and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. Local app data remains until you remove it as described above. Service-provider request logs and support correspondence are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Our providers may process data outside your country with protections required by applicable law.

Your rights and deletion requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To exercise a right or ask about deletion, email contact@cheekypixel.dev. Because Verbatim has no account system, include enough information for us to identify the support correspondence or other information at issue.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Verbatim's features or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above.
